We're a group of parents that educate our Autistic Spectrum children at home. We have many joys and some frustrations, we're here to laugh together, cry together, learn from each other and best of all to make great friends around the world.
This group is for ALL families that are homeschooling full or part time, and even those that are considering home education as an option for their families. We all have different educational philosophies and religious beliefs. We hope that all can respect each others differences and commonalities.
I am a Christian and will discuss how our beliefs affect our sons' lives, how they're doing in children's church, etc. I also am very eclectic in the way we school and I will discuss those aspects of our life too. You are welcome to share anything
that relates to your AS children.

THE FUTURE
I have many ideas to expand our online group and to create a support group for families in each of our communities.
This year I would like to start having live discussions one evening a month that will be on one specific topic and perhaps a guest speaker.
I hope to have a Resource Room sometime this year as well. A source that we can all use to read parental resources regarding home education and autism spectrum issues, research different curriculum, O.T. and Sensory equipment before spending the money. I hope this will become a bookstore with items for sale as well, the profits going to ASLearningAtHome for us to help each other in times of need, for respite, curriculum that maybe we can't afford, or something the group can use and share as a whole...perhaps that retreat that we're always talking about!
Within the next year, I hope to make this a group for people around the world to meet and have a friendship offline, to help each other through the difficult times we all face raising an autistic spectrum child and homeschooling. This will be a place for families to connect in their area and support each other through the good and rough times, perhaps share teaching ideas, resources and more!
My future goal is to start an Independent Study Program that is known world-wide to provide educational counseling, curriculum, testing and record-keeping services for families with Autistic Spectrum children. Eventually it will focus on families with all types of differently abled children.
I hope that the current ASLearningAtHome "family" is excited about my ideas, will explore the possibilities and even suggest some of their own! The sky is the limit with this group and I hope to keep expanding and providing families with a place to call HOME!
